When calling in a student absence please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 and leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned in to the office.

**If you haven't filled out your emergency information as well as the rest of the school forms from the beginning of the year online at Final Forms, please do so ASAP! Are you feeling the pressure to figure your life out, even though you're still in high school? Are you overwhelmed with the decisions you have to make about your future?You're hoping to figure it out later and cross that bridge when it comes, right? Well on Thursday, April 19th during lunch, you can learn how to explore your skills and interests and turn your personality into a lifestyle, before going to college undecided or starting a job you weren't meant to pursue. There will be a table in the Auditeria with more info on Thursday, April 19th.

TESTING: Monday, April 23-Thursday, April 26th. Starting at 8:00 am! Classes will begin at 10:00 am after testing!

          April 23rd and 24th - Math 7, Math 8, Algebra I and Geometry

          April 25th and 26th - Biology and Science 8

Seniors - If you are planning on entering the military after graduation, please stop by the office to provide that information.      

Yearbooks - The 2018 Final Yearbook Sale is going on now until April 30th. You may purchase your yearbook online at www.yearbookordercenter.com by entering our school code: 12253. Or you may send in a check for $50, payable to Hopewell Loudon

Student Council - Any student in grades 7-11 who is interested in becoming a member of student council next year should see Mrs, Jury for more information. The next and last student council meeting will be May 15th at 7:15 am and officers for next year will be elected.

Spring Formal is Saturday, April 21st. Students in grades 7-10 can pay their admission to the Spring Formal in study hall now until April 20th. Admission is $8 for all students.

Hopewell -Loudon has been named and recognized as a "Purple Star" school. The Purple Star Award is for military-friendly schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military. Students are asked to wear purple in honor of military families in our area on Friday, April 20th.

Any high school student interested in umpiring the summer Bascom Baseball/Softball games, please sign up in the office by Wednesday, April 25th. Games will begin in May and run through June.

Mrs. Bloom is helping this Summer with a Science Camp. She is looking high school students that would like to help with Camp Invention. They are called Camp Leadership Interns. Leadership Interns will receive formalized, online leadership training. They will earn up to 40 volunteer hours, receive a letter of recognition from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and have an exciting, fun week. Being a Leadership Intern provides a good resume and college application builder. Please see Mrs. Bloom if you are interested.

Juniors and Seniors must pay for prom dinner and after prom at the YMCA in study hall by April 25th to reserve your spot. Please complete the form in your invitation and give to Mrs. Hoffman to make this process quick and easy. Admission to the dance only can be paid after this date if you decide to come at the last minute. If your guest is not an HL student you must get a dance guest form and get them approved by administration prior to May 9th. If you are unsure if your attire meets dress code requirements, take your picture in it and show it to Mrs. Gelinas or Mrs. Sayre for prior approval.

Talent Show - Are you feeling creative? Would you like to perform on stage and possibly win up to $100? The NHS K-12 Talent Show will be held on May 19th. Perform a solo act or an act with friends. A registration fee for a solo act is $5 and group acts; $3 per person. The grand prize winner will receive $100 and 2 / $50 runner-up prizes will also be given. If you are interested in performing you can pick up a registration form, with more information, in the library or the office.

Last year, an average of 3 people died per day in car crashes. Knowledge is the only way to combat these tragedies. In an effort to make our students more aware of dangers associated with driving, H-L will host a "Mock Crash" scenario on Thursday, May 10th (rain date Friday, March 11th). Please be aware that the EMS from Bascom and New Riegel, local fire departments, State Highway Patrol Officers, Seneca County Sheriff's Department, Seneca County Echo Unit, Harrold Floriana Funeral Home, and St. Vincent's Life Flight will be on site for this event. Mark your calendars for this important event that will demonstrate how decisions that drivers make can have a lasting impact.

Open Gym & Lifting for Volleyball and Girls Basketball will be every Tuesday and Thursday 6-8 in the Scarlet Gym for any 7-12 grade girl not in a spring sport.

Fall 2018 Vaccinations, it is required for all incoming Seniors to have the Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine before school starts.  All incoming 7th graders are required to have one dose of Tdap and Meningitis vaccine before school starts. Please plan on scheduling your child's appointment today to ensure they are up-to-date on the vaccines they need before school starts in August.

Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
