When calling in a student absence please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 and leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned in to the office.

**If you haven't filled out your emergency information as well as the rest of the school forms from the beginning of the year online at Final Forms, please do so ASAP! Any changes please keep Final Forms updated at all times such as address, phone numbers, and contact information, it is very important we have current information on every student here at H-L. Thank you!

There will be no Speed Camp during Spring Break. We will resume on Saturday, April 7th.

Spring Musical - The Spring musical this year will be "High School Musical" Try-outs will be held Monday, March 26th at 2:00 in the Auditeria. If you are interested, please plan on attending.

H-L Fishing Club Fundraiser - Show your team spirit by joining us for a fundraiser to support H-L Fishing Club at Chipotle on Wednesday, March 28t between 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Chipotle will be donating 50% of the proceeds to the H-L Fishing CLub.

H-L Band Fundraiser - Selling State Bound H-L Band T-Shirts now until April 3rd. Order forms are available in the office.

H-L Spanish Club Fundraiser - Shop-to-Donate - Bascom Carry Out; Thursday, April 5th 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. H-L Spanish Club Europe Fund will earn 15% of promoted sales* during that time. No flier needed, just mention the promotion at check out. *Tobacco excluded.

Talent Show - Are you feeling creative? Would you like to perform on stage and possibly win up to $100? The NHS K-12 Talent Show will be held on May 19th. Perform a solo act or an act with friends. A registration fee for a solo act is $5 and group acts; $3 per person. The grand prize winner will receive $100 and 2 / $50 runner-up prizes will also be given. If you are interested in performing you can pick up a registration form, with more information, in the library or the office.

Last year, an average of 3 people died per day in car crashes. Knowledge is the only way to combat these tragedies. In an effort to make our students more aware of dangers associated with driving, H-L will host a "Mock Crash" scenario on Thursday, May 10th (rain date Friday, March 11th). Please be aware that the EMS from Bascom and New Riegel, local fire departments, State Highway Patrol Officers, Seneca County Sheriff's Department, Seneca County Echo Unit, Harrold Floriana Funeral Home, and St. Vincent's Life Flight will be on site for this event. Mark your calendars for this important event that will demonstrate how decisions that drivers make can have a lasting impact.

Scholarship for the Ohio Teens Institute Leadership Conference is available in the office or students can fill out online using the link on the H-L homepage. Deadline for the scholarship is April 6th.

Bascom Lions has extended the date for both of their scholarships. They offer scholarships for students attending bout a two year and four year college after graduation. Due date is now April 3, 2018. See Mrs. Hendrix if you have any questions.

Seniors: Please look at the scholarship page, it has been updated. the following scholarships have been added/updated. Cameron Joseph St. Clair Memorial Scholarship. Hopewell-Loudon Education Association Scholarship - there is a change to this scholarship for this year only seniors can apply for the HL Education scholarship and be considered for two scholarships. The second one being the Mary Ruth Crandall scholarship.

Fall 2018 Vaccinations, it is required for all incoming Seniors to have the Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine before school starts.  All incoming 7th graders are required to have one dose of Tdap and Meningitis vaccine before school starts. Please plan on scheduling your child's appointment today to ensure they are up-to-date on the vaccines they need before school starts in August.

Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
