When calling in a student absence please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 and leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned in to the office.

**If you haven't filled out your emergency information as well as the rest of the school forms from the beginning of the year online at Final Forms, please do so ASAP! Any changes please keep Final Forms updated at all times such as address, phone numbers, and contact information, it is very important we have current information on every student here at H-L. Thank you!

Class of 2018 will be having a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, January 17th from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Tiffin location.

This Friday, January 19th OHSAA has suggested a 2nd annual Military Appreciation Night to student sections across the state.  Last year we took a spirit bus to Cory Rawson with a group decked out in red-white-blue along with a few presidents.  This year we'd like to repeat the spirit at home.  Let's see your support for both our Chieftains AND our military!  ALL students will be admitted into the game FREE if you are decked out for the student section - it's red, white and blue and/or other military outfits. See Mrs. Jury if you would like to be one of the presidents.

All veterans or active military soldiers will also be admitted to the game FREE. Please share the word with family and friends - we would like to honor these American heroes! Go CHIEFTAINS! #OhioStrong2018

If you haven't heard by now, we have a student-led Fishing Team here at H-L. The students are very excited. We have had great community support with financial donations, volunteered tackle and also the use of boats. There is now an official H-L fishing club t-shirt sale that starts today and runs until Friday, January 26th. The shirts will be red and sizes are available in S-XL for $10 and 2X-3X for $12 each. Order forms will be sent home with your student or found in the school office. Thank you for your support

Seniors applying to Bowling Green State University, January 15th is the deadline to apply for admission and to be eligible for the University Freshman Academic Scholarship.

Seniors: If you haven't ordered your cap and gown, please do so ASAP. Online (www.jostens.com) or by calling 800-JOSTENS

Speed Camp is now being held on Saturdays at 9 am in the Chieftain Gym. All athletes in grades 7-12 are welcome.

Weight room for non-winter sports will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school.

Seniors: Reminder that you need to turn in 20 hours of community service for graduation, this is a REQUIREMENT. There are still many students with NO hours documented. We have the paperwork in the office that you need to fill out, if you have any questions please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office. These hours are due NO LATER THAN March 9, 2018.

Seniors: Please look at the scholarship page, it has been updated. the following scholarships have been added/updated. National Machinery Engineering Scholarship, Marion Community Foundation Scholarship, NW Region Bonnie Eddy Educational Supply Grant, Promedica Fostoria Hospital Scholarships, Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Scholarship.

Attention Junior Boys: Buckeye Boys State will be held on June 10-17 at Miami University. Buckeye Boys State is a way for young men to gain knowledge about Ohio Government. If you are interested in attending see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office, you are also encouraged to check out the official Buckeye Boys State website: www.ohiolegion.com/programs/buckeye-boys-state/

Fall 2018 Vaccinations, it is required for all incoming Seniors to have the Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine before school starts.  All incoming 7th graders are required to have one dose of Tdap vaccine before school starts. Please plan on scheduling your child's appointment today to ensure they are up-to-date on the vaccines they need when school starts in August.

Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
