Covid 19 - Staff-Student Update 35
January 21, 2021 for immediate release
Dear Hopewell-Loudon Parents/Guardians, Staff and Community Members:
We recently received notification that Hopewell-Loudon has TWO (2) NEW Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 today. These are the second and third COVID-19 student cases for this week. While we must protect the privacy of the people involved, we believe it is best to communicate transparently with you so you can make well-informed decisions for your family.
We immediately contacted the Seneca County Health Department for confirmation of the recent positive case. The Health Department has started the contact tracing process. An email from the Seneca County Health Department will be sent to those who are impacted by "close contact." Once the contact tracing has completed, I will send out an announcement. If you feel you are having any of the COVID-19-like symptoms (these include fever, cough and shortness of breath), seek medical attention immediately. If you feel that you may/have been exposed to COVID-19, “self-quarantine” for ten (10) days. If you have COVID-19 related questions or questions regarding quarantine, please contact the Seneca County Health Department at: 419-447-3691.
The Seneca County General Health District along with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend the following best practices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve.
- Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
- Stay at home when you are sick.
- Practice social distancing, leaving at least six feet between you and other people.
- Wear a cloth mask in public when you cannot social distance.
As throughout this pandemic, we are continuing to work closely with The Seneca County Health Department and are following the regulations and requirements of the Health Department and the CDC.

We have received confirmation that the Seneca County Health Department has finished the contact tracing for the latest positive COVID-19 case, which occurred today, Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Hopewell-Loudon Schools.
These deemed in “close contact,” have been notified by the Health Department via email and/or a phone call from Mr. Rothrock.

This is the fourth positive COVID-19 case for the week of 12/14/20 until today, 12/20/20, which are two staff members and two students. While we must protect the privacy of the people involved, we believe it is best to communicate transparently with you so you can make well-informed decisions for your family.

An email from the Seneca County Health Department will be sent to those who are impacted by "close contact." Once the contact tracing has completed, I will send out an announcement.
